On one hand Emma was free. She didnt have to deal with her mother over here, but on the other hand. she had no one. She would never see jake again and her mom wasnt treating her as if she didnt exist. Of course she could talk to her dad but nothing ever came out of that except him asking her about her mom and that wasnt something she wanted to do.
Tonight, just like every night since coming to chicago, Emma got dolled up wearing a short black min skirt and a dark blue tank top with one of those half wraps on to. She left her hair down and pinned on one side and to top it off she wore the necklace of the eiffle tower that jake had given her. Slipping on a pair of black heals and she slid her phone and some money into a matching hand bag and headed out to one of the many clubs here.
Drinking had become as regular as it had been in France to her. She drank till she couldnt think and she danced till her legs and feet protested so much that she had to sit down. There was some band some person had handed a flier to her for. They were going to be playing and apparently they were 'all the rave'. Well she would just see for herself. It amazed her how many of the clubs let underage people pass by. Some didnt even use fake i.d's It was ridiculous really but nothing she would complain about. She was underage as well and that just mean it was on her side.
It didnt take much, most of the bouncers let her in right away. It helped to be good looking and a girl. Once inside the place was pretty full and people were already on their way to being drunk and a large group were dancing to the club mix that was playing at the moment. The band still had about a half hour before show time. Emma was going to use this time to get as much in her system as she could.
Slipping to the bar she flashed a couple smiles knowing shed be getting some free drinks tonight, not that it was hard. Guys bought her drinks all the time, and even sometimes girls. It wasnt as if she needed people to buy her drinks but why turn one down. She leaned against the bar and when the bartender came up to her she ordered herself a drink.
Emma drank for the next half hour, taking shots that were bought for her before the band finally showed up. She slammed down the last of her drink already feeling a little fuzzy from how fast shed drank. She winked to one of the boys next to her before heading to the dance floor knowing the boy would probably follow. She didnt mind a dancing partner. Once on the floor she let her body move to the music the alcohol making it loose as she moved.

Jakob had to admit that he really really hated the idea of Chicago. At first Chicago had been a pretty nice experience. The city of Chicago was a bit different than Los Vegas and Paris. At first he had liked the fact that it was different, but the difference had quickly transformed into a bad thing. Jake spent his days at the school cursing the fact that he actually had to attend class. At least in Paris he had been able to skip easily and go to the casino. This brought Jake to another problem. He hadn't been able to properly gamble in weeks. Jake's addiction sometimes caused him to get in more trouble than he needed, which was the reason he had ended up going to a random club with an ugly girl.
The red headed bitch was super thin, freckly, and had a voice that was more like a screech. Jake ignored her for the most part. He had lost a bet with her. She had bet that he couldn't beat her at rock-paper-scissors and he hadn't been able to. The bet entailed one trip to a club together, one kiss, and one drink on Jake. Jakob moved through the people, a sneer on his lips. Since he had gone back to Paris and been told that Emma had moved on with her life, well, he had returned to his former bitterness. Jakob didn't feel like he had time to be soft for anyone. He had let his guard down once and she hadn't even waited on him like she said she would. Jake licked his lips as he stopped at the bar.
Barman, two vodkas on the rocks. Jakob said firmly. He turned to his freckled date and shrugged. This will be two parts down and one to go. He inwardly cringed at the idea of possibly having to kiss the girl. Her lips appeared to be a little cracked and chapped. Jake wanted to use the excuse that he had a little bit of a five o'clock shadow set in. There was no way he could kiss a girl without scratching her to death with his scruff. Jakob stared across the dance floor, taking a sip of his drink. A familiar face floated across his field of view. Was it possible he was drunk after one sip?
Jakob thought for sure that he had just seen Emma. He stared for a moment, shaking his head. It couldn't be Emma. Why the hell would she be in some random club in Chicago? Jake stood from the bar, sitting his drink down. He suddenly lost the urge to drink. Jake found himself walking toward the familiar girl, ignoring the calls of his unfinished bet. Jakob stopped in front of Emma. It was a little awkward because she was dancing and he wasn't. He didn't move with the music at all. Jakob reached out, brushing his fingertips across her cheek to make sure that she was real. When his fingers didn't move through her and she didn't disappear... Jakob smirked.
Emma Lillian Moreau. Jakob said simply. He shook his head slowly as he laughed, Ça fait longtemps qu'on ne s'est pas vu. He said, which was French for 'Long time no see.' A part of Jakob hoped that she would be incredibly apologetic for leaving him the way she did. A nicer part of him wanted to fight that, but wasn't strong enough to break through. Jakob had let that softness that he had acquired once with Emma go. He had tossed it out, assuming he would never see her again.

Emma wasnt really so much dancing with the guy even though every time he started to put his hands on her hips to keep her closer to him she moved just out of his grasp as if it was just the music doing it. Emma really only wanted one pair of hands on her and she knew that would probably not happen for some time now. Part of her thought about trying to find him. She was in the states now, she could try, but another part didnt want to intrude on his life here. She knew from what Jake had told her the strain between him and his dad and she didnt want to cause any more problems. Besides he probably wouldnt want her to be in that part of his life. She had been his paris part, the part far from home. Its better to just let go. besides he could be in paris right now.
That thought sobered her up just a little bit and her brows drew together wanting the start of her buzz back. She knew she should have drank more, it helped her to stop thinking so much. She sighed and tried to throw herself back into the music trying to shut her mind off. Tried to push out the guy she was forced to leave. Hed get back and think she just ditched him.. hed hate her. Unless he just moved on. emma didnt want to just be some passing girl for Jakob then again she knew there were far more better more beautiful, smarter girls in paris that would just love to take her place. She could definitely think of a few. Her 'friends' had always gushed about what a catch jakob was. She knew none of them really thought that jakob could stand to be around her for too long. After all he had so many more dishes to pick from.
Emma always tried to ignore them but it was hard when it came from not only them but her mom too. Emma always wondered herself why he would have chosen to keep looks up with her. She had been glad for it though.. since theyd formed a friendship, but ... maybe that had been just a thing too. Something to make it more tolerable since they were around each other so much. Emma mentally shook her head. No.. she needed to stop thinking.
The music started pumping louder and just as she was getting back into it she felt a presence. She didnt dare open her eyes though figuring it was all in her head. That familiar gaze, no.. that was in her head. But then someone was touching her face, that touch felt so familiar and she opened her eyes, her movements stopping as she looked at the person who was now saying her name. She just kind of blinked at him, her mouth opening a little in a small 'o'. There was no way she had really drank that much. Shed be lying if she said she hadnt thought shed seen him a few times, but ended up finding out that the person wasnt him.
None of those had ever spoken french to her though. Jake? she closed her mouth and licked her lips. She wanted to throw her arms around him, wanted to kiss him hold him, take him somewhere else somewhere they can talk, somewhere that she could find out what he was doing here. Had he come to find her? Did her mom tell him where she was? Was he here for her? She didnt want to get her hopes up, for all she knew it could just have been coincidence, but... it just seemed to... surreal to be coincidence. Its really you? she asked, her french accent a little heavier with the alcohol in her systemhow? what? i mean.. you're in chicago? When? she bit her lip to hopefully keep her grounded, keep her thoughts from wandering to hope that might not exist.
